Environmental impacts

The urban part of the Auckland Region is spread over a very large area.  As the boundaries of urbanisation spread out, catchments, streams, wetlands and estuaries become modified. In the larger urbanised catchments there are land uses ranging from bush and forestry to fully urbanised areas with large stormwater pressures.  Each of these land uses has an impact on streams.
